About
Balthazar Ltd was founded in 2001 by Belinda Bushby and Charles Meyrick. With a then combined 18 years’ experience in the wine trade, we have a client base split between trade and private customers both in the UK and overseas, and a list which covers a huge range of items at competitive market prices.
We pride ourselves on our ability to advise the amateur wine-buyer, to provide for the needs of the connoisseur, and to make it an interesting and enjoyable experience.
Wine
Please refer to our full list. The wines are ordered by Colour, Category, Area, Vintage and then Name. We have also indicated where they are held In Bond (IB) or Duty Paid (DP). If there is anything you are looking for but which we are not listing, we will be happy to source it for you.
Spirits
We are in a position to offer just about any type of spirit you might be looking for: Whisky (Single Malts & Blended), Bourbon, Irish Whiskey, Rum, Gin, Vodka, Brandy, Fine & Marc etc. We only sell by the case, and prices change so often that it is better to contact us directly for full details and prices.
Location
In 2010, Balthazar relocated from London to the western edge of the New Forest. Should you wish to visit us, please contact us to arrange an appointment.
Warehousing
We store our wines at London City Bond, in Barking, which is a bonded warehouse facility. We would be more than happy to store your wines for you, at a cost of £9 per case per year ex VAT. If at any time you wish to have your wines released from Bond, please contact us at the office, giving us at least 48 hours notice.
Wines held In Bond do not incur Duty or VAT until release from Bond. Duty Paid wines will be invoiced with VAT.
Delivery & Shipping
We endeavour to deliver as soon as possible after you place your order. Delivery is charged at cost price and will take place during normal working hours, Monday-Friday. If the wine is not already in the country, we will inform you as to its estimated time of arrival.
If you are based overseas, goods are released for your collection ex warehouse London City Bond (Creek Road). By special agreement, shipping can be generally quoted (using reputable shipping forwarders) door-to-door but excluding local taxes. Please contact us for a free quote.
Selling Your Wine
We are always looking for new stocks of wine. Should you wish to sell your wines, please contact us for a free valuation. We will either pay you an agreed price upon delivery and inspection of the wine, or we can store your wine, list it and pay you the list price less 10% commission when it sells.
